Veterinarian/Owner
Jillian Shencopp, DVM
Dr. Shencopp started at Greenfield as a kennel attendant when she was in high school, then became a receptionist and technician assistant. After graduating from Michigan State University with her DVM degree in 2016, she returned to practice veterinary medicine. In 2021, Dr. Shencopp and Evie had the opportunity to acquire the practice to keep it independently owned. During the process of switching ownership, Dr. Shencopp gave birth to her son, Jonah. She juggles being a mom, practicing medicine, and running a business! She also has 3 cats, Pancake, Colonel Mustard, and Norman, as well as 2 dogs, Primrose and Loki. Dr. Shencopp’s favorite aspects of veterinary medicine are animal behavior, pain management, and wound management. Her goal for Greenfield is to make an impact in the community through client education and implementing advanced medical techniques. Dr. Shencopp is a member of AAHA, AVMA, SEMVMA, and MVMA.
Associate Veterinarian
Hanna Martines, DVM (she/her)
Dr. Martines, a Metro Detroit native, is pleased to return to her roots after earning her DVM from Midwestern University in Arizona in 2023. She’s committed to low-stress vet visits and fear-free handling. With a keen interest in pain management and hospice/geriatric care, Dr. Martines is a big advocate for the importance of maintaining a high quality of life in all patients of all life stages. Eventually, she’d like to branch out and treat pocket pets, with a special fondness for rats!
Outside of work, Dr. Martines cherishes spending quality time with her family and furry companions: her dog, Maggie Moo; her cat, Costa; and her hamster, Ethel. She enjoys thrifting, playing the piano, and crafting, particularly embroidery. We’re lucky to have such a passionate doctor like her!
Kennel Attendant
Charlotte L. (she/her)
Charlotte joined Greenfield in 2024. Her lifelong passion for animals led her to the world of veterinary medicine. She is a pre-veterinary student at Michigan State University, where she is also a research assistant specializing in swine nutrition, health, and physiology. With a goal of attending veterinary school, Charlotte is dedicated to expanding her knowledge and skills, with a special interest in feline medicine. Charlotte shares her home with two cats, Becca and April. Becca, who turned 15 in 2024, has been with Charlotte since her childhood. In her free time, Charlotte loves reading, spending time with friends, and staying active.
Front Desk Manager
Kaleigh F. (she/her)
Kaleigh’s veterinary medicine story began with her love for animals, leading her to work at an animal shelter in 2021. After honing her skills, she decided to try something new and transitioned to a small animal clinic. Lucky for us, she found her way to Greenfield in 2024, bringing her passion for pets with her.
At home, Kaleigh shares her life with her husband and their adorable fur babies. Their furry family includes three dogs named Billie, Calvin, and Teddy, and their feline friend Auggie. In her free time, Kaleigh enjoys discovering hidden gems for the best eats in town – she’s a total foodie! She also loves being in nature; nothing beats going for a long walk with her doggos.
Inventory Manager
Kathy T. (she/her)
Kathy’s story is unique. In her past life, she was an accountant for 30 years! More recently, she worked at Best Buy. In 2024, she decided to trade in TVs and appliances for wagging tails and purrs, and she joined Team Greenfield. Kathy and her husband, Dennis, have three daughters, three grandchildren, and a dynamic doggie duo, Wilmer and Oliver. Her daughter and one of our technicians, Ellen, walk the same halls here at Greenfield! Outside of work, Kathy loves to garden, sew, and spend the day on the lake kayaking.
Receptionist
Robin O. (she/her)
Robin joined Greenfield in 2024 as a receptionist, bringing over 20 years of experience in the veterinary field. Her journey began at the Humane Society when she was 19, and over the years, she has worked as a veterinary assistant at various clinics before settling into her role at Greenfield. Robin is also a Licensed Pharmacy Technician. In her free time, Robin enjoys crocheting, clog dancing, and going on nature walks. She shares her life with two sister calico cats, Electra and Etcetera.
Associate Veterinarian
Ashley Reynolds, DVM
Dr. Ashley Reynolds was born and raised in Royal Oak, MI. She knew she wanted to be a veterinarian from about 8 years old. She started working as a kennel assistant at a local veterinary clinic in high school and went on to do her undergraduate and the University of Michigan before graduating from MSU CVM in 2001. She has worked in the local area since graduation and continues to reside in Royal Oak. Some of her professional interests include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and feline medicine. She particularly enjoys internal medicine and endocrine disorders. She is married to her high school sweetheart who helps her to wrangle her 3 sons, 4 cats, and a dog. In her free time, she enjoys camping, paddle boarding, and outdoor adventures. Dr. Reynolds is a member of AAHA, AVMA, SEMVMA, and MVMA.
Practice Owner
Evie Fredenburg
Evie began her Greenfield career in 2001 as a receptionist then stepped into the role of office manager. She eventually became Greenfield Animal Hospital’s practice manager.
Evie is responsible for creating a cohesive team of like-minded individuals with similar morals and goals for the practice. After 20 years of managing the practice, she became business partners with Dr. Shencopp and together they acquired Greenfield Animal Hospital. During the acquisition of Greenfield, Evie was diagnosed with breast cancer. Through treatment, she fought to stay strong for her husband, family, friends, and Greenfield! We are proud of her and happy to announce she’s been in remission since 2020.
Adding to the challenges, COVID caused a national shutdown of businesses during the acquisition. Despite these setbacks, Dr. Shencopp and Evie were able to finally fulfill a dream and make Greenfield Animal Hospital their own!
Evie is proud to say that Greenfield Animal Hospital is one of the last few independently (and women) owned veterinary hospitals in the area! This allows the doctors and staff to provide the level of medicine they believe to be of utmost importance.
She loves going to work every day and is so proud of each employee and their dedication to their patients. When she’s not at Greenfield, she’s cuddling with her cats, Harrison Ford and John Patrick, practicing bass, seeing a live show, trying a new restaurant, traveling, hiking, biking, and just enjoying life.
Associate Veterinarian
Jennifer Jachman, DVM
Dr. Jachman graduated from Michigan State University in 1990 and began practicing at Greenfield Animal Hospital. Shortly after, she moved to Colorado to practice at a small animal clinic and then back to Michigan, practicing at various clinics before returning to Greenfield. One of Dr. Jachman’s true passions is conservation. She and her family moved to Africa to take part in cheetah conservation. She’s performed spays and neuters for village dogs and worked to save the dwindling cheetah population. She lived there for 6 months before returning to Greenfield. Now, Dr. Jachman returns to Africa periodically for various conservation projects. She can’t stay gone too long because her dog, cat, and chickens miss her. Dr. Jachman is a member of AAHA, AVMA, SEMVMA, and MVMA.
Associate Veterinarian
Sarah Sewick, DVM
Dr. Sewick earned her DVM from the University of Illinois. During school, she had the incredible opportunity to work with some unique animals including a federally protected sandhill crane, a wallaroo, and a tiger. After graduating, she worked as a relief veterinarian, gaining experience at multiple practices, before settling down at Greenfield (and we are so glad she did!) She has special interests in caring for geriatric patients, pain management, and providing appropriate support and resources for behavioral cases. When she’s not spending time in nature, reading, knitting, or sewing, she has 3 cats, 2 dogs, and a box turtle to keep her busy. Dr. Sewick is a member of AAHA, AVMA, SEMVMA, and MVMA.
Associate Veterinarian
Melissa Doolin, DVM (she/her)
Dr. Doolin graduated from Tufts University in 2013. She has experience in wildlife rehabilitation, emergency/critical care, and low-stress handling through fear- and force-free methods. In addition to being a passionate and dedicated veterinarian, Dr. Doolin is our in-clinic MacGyver! If she doesn’t have the resources you need, she’ll find or make them. When she’s not at work, you can find her gardening, DIYing, crafting, or adventuring with her rescue dog, Smokey. Dr. Doolin has special interests in soft tissue surgery, anesthesiology, and clinical pathology. Dr. Doolin is a member of AAHA, AVMA, SEMVMA, and MVMA, and she’s proud to be Low Stress Handling Certified.
Associate Veterinarian
Michael P. Hood, DVM
Dr. Hood started his relationship with Greenfield Animal Hospital as a client in 1977, helping to bring in his family pets for their veterinary care. In 1984 he had his first job at Greenfield as a kennel attendant. Cleaning the kennels, feeding and caring for the animals in the hospital is how he got his start. From 1984 to 1986 while completing high school, he continued to work at Greenfield Animal Hospital. With some mentoring by Dr. Byron, he went to Michigan State University, knowing veterinary medicine is what he wanted to do. After 3 years of undergraduate work and four years of veterinary school he returned to Greenfield Animal Hospital to work as a veterinarian. Since starting his career in veterinary medicine in 1993, Dr. Hood has come to realize he could not have chosen a better career for himself.
Dr.Hood has been married to his wife Lynn since 1995, also a MSU graduate. His two kitties, Izzy and Dray are quite the characters! He enjoys watching and playing basketball and golf in his spare time. He is very passionate about all MSU sports. You can reach Dr. Hood via e-mail at drhood@greenfieldanimalhospital.com
